Monday things
Starting the week with some writing. It's actually my Sunday night and there's nothing for me besides some long historical documentaries and catching up with a few of the nomads that do vlogs. I thought I'd share a few with you. Both have different takes on life. Both are refreshing and candid and have reset their lives to be what they want. I found them thanks to the YouTube algorithm I guess deciding I might like something different. And I do. Anyways here you go. Two nomads I really enjoy.
- Tobe Explores. His brand of walking away from a life he found draining him resonates with me at a few levels. It offers a different view of someone that took stock of his life and decided it was not what he wanted. So he went and made things how he wanted them to be.
- Nomad Sam. This person is completely different than the first you might think. Really though the message is about what Sam found in his life and what he wanted. Sam went to the wilds. With his wonderful dog that I simply love to watch too.
Both people have this need to move away from lives that took them down. Gave them nothing. To me they both wanted to reinvent themselves. Recast their lives into a new mold. Both also decided to take us along for the ride.
We all have our different reasons for needing the change. When I left I felt done. Like everything I had like a car and a home was not enough. I wanted to simply go to that next place. Find the thing that beckoned. It had to be different. Leaving for the same thing would never work. Southeast Asia became my escape but more my going toward. For Tobe and Sam their reasons are both different and similar.
The important thing to me is to see that the life we had was simply not giving us what we needed. I needed and wanted simplicity. I wanted no debt. No things that would get in my way. When I left perhaps I felt like America left me too. Like I had what it offered and I came up short. It just was not enough. And it was too much.
Both the guys fill their YouTube channels with all their things. Their happiness and sadness. Their ups and downs. Their lives and how both have become enriched beyond measure. We each find that measure in different ways. And that's the best of all. I enjoy their lives and what they share because they are different. They chose things that would stretch them. Give them back something.
Give them a watch if you have some time. I found both to be unique and wonderfully intelligent people who decided that other life was not the one they wanted. So they changed it all.
Monday coffee
Life would not be complete without me writing on my Monday adventure for coffee. Tomorrow is special and so I go to a special place. I don't go often any longer and save it usually for a Monday like now.
I get to leave soon. Sometimes maybe often I crave getting away from the house. Finding a place not here. Not there. Something Siem Reap has. A between. Coffee shops are good for that here. The idea is finding the moments where I can be away from this but not engaged in that.
